De Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Taupe Haze' presenteert een ingetogen kleurstelling van het ontwerp van Tinker Hatfield uit 1989. Op het bovenwerk is een donkere taupe-afwerking aangebracht, gemaakt van een mix van getextureerd suède met gebarsten leer op de kraag, tong en spatbord. Contrasterende zwarte accenten komen terecht op de veters, de plastic vleugels en het hiellipje, de laatste gemarkeerd met een Jumpman-logo in reliëf. Een tweede Jumpman-pictogram wordt in infrarood op het tonglabel weergegeven, passend bij de binnenvoering van de tong. Lichtgewicht demping wordt geleverd door een tweekleurige PU-tussenzool, met een zichtbare Air-unit in de hiel en ingekapselde Air in de voorvoet.
